Review of Indian Food Tours in Delhi

"“Awesome - rare experience - safe and most of all DELICIOUS” I went on a solo food tour with Raj. He is an experienced chef. Once I got over the traffic and the hustle and bustle of Chowndni Chowk (Old Delhi) I was in a foodies heaven. I had a list of things that I wanted to try beforehand. Most were satisfied. I felt safe and trusted Raj, with his experience of food and of course his attention to hygiene. Some of the dishes I tried on the trip - Daulat ki Chaat (heavenly), Chole Batura, heavenly puris and aloo, pumpkin curries, the most divine rose flavoured lassi - i HAVE EVER TASTED, gol gappa, paranthas, delicious falooda from gianis, rare rabri condensed milk sweet, fusion indian pasties, charcoal baked fresh biscuits, samosas from the gods, sweet chai and a light as air dipping biscuit, dahi bhalle. I listened with care when Raj went through some of the cultural history of Delhi 6. I really felt like a local who knew the best spots for chaat and other delights. Raj took me to a fine spice shop where I bought wonderful teas. If all that was not enough, Raj took me to the best Masala - Dhaba were I tasted fine tikka, deep flavoured curries including saag and delightful dried mint naans that were melt in the mouth. The place was Kake-da Hotel on Con naught place. In summary, the day was full on, and one of the highlights of my grateful time on earth. Next time I am in Delhi, I will do another tour, as there is so much more to explore, gastronomically and historically. I am very grateful to Raj, for introducing me to the wonders of the hindustan cuisine and people, such an ancient, rich and wonderful culture. http://ift.tt/1FA7tOA" #foodtour #foodwalk #tourism #india #food #delhi #travel #cooking #cookingclass

Review of Indian Food Tours in Delhi

“Brilliant tour” We did an afternoon food tour of Delhi, 3 of us and two others. The tour really gets you around Delhi old and new so a great way to see the city and go places you wouldn't otherwise see. Food was excellent, we eat things that we would never have imagined. Raj and Jaidev were great company and the tour was well worth the money, Do this rather than the red fort or other boring museum. http://ift.tt/1Os1Yny #cookingclass #foodwalks #tourism #foodtour #india #food #delhi #travel #cooking

“Fun and unique!” This was a very fun tour! I have a sensitive stomach, but nothing was too spicy and I didn't get sick. We tasted some very yummy things. Very fun walking tour of old Delhi, in areas a regular tourist wouldn't know of. The tour of the temple kitchen was also great. http://ift.tt/1UWZblg #cookingclass #foodwalks #tourism #foodtour #india #food #delhi #travel #cooking

“Authentic cooking class” We had a late afternoon vegetarian cooking class with Rajeev where we learnt to cook many authentic and tasty Indian dishes including pakora and stuffed roti. We were welcomed into Rajeev's home where he taught us not only how to cook but also about Indian spices (and gave us a sample to take home). We had a great time and would recommend this class to anyone who loves food and we are looking forward to cooking Indian food for our friends and family. http://ift.tt/1K9oUSp #foodtour #foodwalk #tourism #india #food #delhi #travel

Review of Indian Food Tours in Delhi

“An afternoon of great food...” Couldn’t think of a better way to explore Delhi. It is evident that Raj and Jaidev put time into researching and finding the best places to eat. The 5 of us had such a tasty afternoon – and the rickshaw traffic jam was like no other that we’ve ever been through in our travels!! Now we know there is more to Indian food than curries, samosas and poppadums!! The gol gappa were the tastiest we experienced our entire trip, the pomegranate kulfi sorbet was delicious, the charcoal baked biscuits so moreish! And… the daulat ki chaat… well we are still dreaming about it!! We hope to get back to Delhi one day to savour these all over again. It felt like an afternoon with friends showing you around their city, informative but with lots of humour – this makes a difference in the experience. The only downside to this tour is the advice to have only a bite or two (very difficult!!) at each stop so there is ample stomach capacity left… And yes heed the advice of other feedback and bring a large handkerchief or hold on for dear life to the wet wipe provided when you get to the chilli market. (ps: yes we enjoyed our wedding thanks J, all the best for yours!!) http://ift.tt/1KrADRK #cookingclass #foodwalks #tourism #foodtour #india #food #delhi #travel #cooking
